The Grandfather Paradox

 Hey guys!! Today I will be discussing the “Grandfather Paradox”, which is arguably the most famous of all time travel paradoxes and any other paradoxes as well.

We will approach this topic like the past few. First, we find its definition

Definition- The grandfather paradox is a paradox of time travel in which inconsistencies emerge through changing the past. 

Mind-boggling? If not, well done! If yes, never fear! By the end of this post, you will be able to breeze through any talk on the grandfather paradox. 

What the grandfather paradox basically is, is this. 

You are born in the year 3000 CE. The first time machine is made. You go back in time to see your grandpa as a baby. Now here comes the bad part. You never liked your grandpa, so you bump him off, so that he never troubles you when you are born. However, this is where the paradox comes into effect. If you kill him as a baby, he will never marry your grandmom, they won't give birth to your dad or mom, which would lead to you never existing. If you don't exist, you couldn't have gone back in time to kill your grandpa, which would mean he would marry your grandmom, give birth to your dad or mom, and you would be born. If you are born, you will go back in time to kill your grandpa, and so on. THIS is the grandfather paradox. 

There are, however, solutions to this problem. 

One- The impossibility of time travel would render this paradox useless.

Two- Even if time travel existed, there would be laws in nature to prevent the killing of your grandpa to maintain space-time continuum.

Three- Even if you do manage to kill your grandpa, you will end up in an alternative reality, where you didn't exist. It basically creates two time-streams instead of one. In one, you never killed your grandpa, were born and never went back in time to kill him. Another, in which you did, and now you and your old man or mom, don't exist. YOU do, but you are from a different time-stream, and nobody will know you.

There you go. Now, you can consider yourself an authority on this subject. With this, the time travel series comes to an end. Or maybe it doesn't, and I write tons of other posts on it, until someone tells me its boring, so I came into the past, bumped my past self off, and in an alternative reality, and am writing this.
