Does God Exist?

 Hello! Today, I'll be talking about the existence of God.

Now, before we begin- a disclaimer. I'm an atheist, but I will try my best to look at it from a believer's perspective as well.

Let's begin.

Arguments FOR the existence of God:-

a) The Levers Argument- Imagine the world is a box with many levers. These levers need to be set in a very specific position to prevent the box from imploding, collapsing in on itself, or exploding. Science tells us that if the gravity had been just a little stronger or weaker, our world would NOT exist. It would require a Supreme Being to set it in just that way.

b) The Cosmic Watchmaker Argument- Let's take a situation. There is a beach. Now, the tide comes in and when it recedes, it leaves behind a watch. we now have two suggestions. Number one- the sand and water and minerals in the sea came together to create the watch, and Number Two- a sentient being created it and dropped it in the water. Number Two sounds more plausible, right? The world is that watch, and God created it.

c) The Cosmological Argument- There had to be something since the beginning of time. THAT SOMETHING IS GOD.

Arguments AGAINST the existence of God:-

a) The Levers Argument is destroyed- The Lottery Fallacy completely ruins this theory. Imagine u go to a lottery. One of ten million will win enough money to last them a lifetime. You get that one ticket. WAS THE LOTTERY RIGGED? No, it was a matter of chance. The same way, many other universes might have had their levers set on the wrong positions. Just because ours didn't, doesn't say anything.

b) The Cosmic Watchmaker Argument is defeated- Come on. The world wasn't created in such a complicated manner, it developed into what it is today from barely anything. Scrapped!

c) The Cosmological Argument is thrashed- Why does there have to be something?
