Why Is There Something Rather Than Nothing?

Hello, guys! I'm gonna take on a beast today as I will try to answer the question- "Why is there something rather than nothing?"

Let's begin.

Many of you, at some point in your life, must have wondered about this very question. However, the hustle and bustle of life took you away from it and you never did find the time to think about it deeply.
I understand that many of us have a very busy life, and simply CANNOT set aside time for this. However, in this blog post, I shall try to simplify this.

The first view, taken by many religious people is- Because God willed it so.
Let's call this the "God's Will Theory"

On the surface, it may seem like a good theory, but let's delve a little deeper.
If God willed it so, another question arises. WHY did God will it so? And another one. Does God even exist? And one more. If God is omnipresent, all-good and all-knowing, why would he create such a universe where there is so much suffering? So much pain, so many tragedies? This renders the God's Will Theory useless, in my opinion, since it gives more questions than answers.

The second view is- It exists because without it, there would be nothing, and nothing cannot exist.
Let's call this the "Had-To-Exist Theory"

I must admit, this is a very, very tempting one. However, there are problems with this one as well. The first one is evident. We do not KNOW that nothing cannot exist. After all the concept of void does explain this. If this was the only flaw, it might have been overcome. Except, it isn't. There are more. How do we know that without this something, there would be nothing? Couldn't then there be a different thing altogether, something separate from "something" and "everything". In other words, unperceivable, but very much there. Sadly, this makes the "Had-To-Exist Theory" useless as well.

The third view is- Perhaps something just always existed. Maybe the concept of nothing itself is just that- a concept.
Let's call this the "Something-Always-Existed Theory".

Finally, a satisfactory answer! I am completely unable to give any arguments against this. I mean, it's kind of self-solving. It's basically the second theory but with all loose ends tied.

With this, I provide an answer to the first of the 8 great unanswerable questions! You may have arguments against it, in which case I am open to being further enlightened.

So, with that comes and end to this topic. The next one will be on another one of these great questions.

Until then.

SIGNING OFF, THIS IS THE BIG V.
